Well bloody Nora, it has been a while. Sometimes I am grateful that I am not a successful blogger so I can get away with just disappearing for a bit (and all other times, I am just incredibly bitter). I decided to take a few weeks off from blogging in order to spend time with my other half who was off work, and the main reason for that was that it was my 21st birthday.. and.. WE GOT ENGAGED!
We travelled to Sunderland the day before my birthday and checked in to the Hill Garden Inn, which I must admit, I felt far too common in, and we had the most amazing day. We took lots of alcohol with us to hide in the mini fridge, ate, and spent a fortune, in Frankie & Benny’s, and then travelled back to the hotel to chill while we were baby free.
It was then when he proposed! Down on one knee, in the hotel room, at midnight, on my birthday. I am so glad it was private, as I think I might have actually killed him if he did it in public (I also told him this a long time ago). After being together three and a half years, living with each other for two, and a baby, we are officially engaged. I don’t know whether that is classed as quickly these days, but I don’t care. I know I can’t imagine myself with anyone else, ever.
The next day, my actual birthday, we travelled back to our home town where my mam had thrown me a little spread, and got me a personalised cake which I was absolutely in love with (see below!). I had the most amazing day, got to spend the first birthday with O, and the rest of my family who I absolutely love.
Overall, it was a bloody fantastic day.
Normality will return soon and I will start to blog again, but for now, enjoy a few pictures I took over the course of my birthday weekend
